About me

My name is Jo, and I am the founder of Meadows Hypnotherapy and Children’s Wellbeing based near Leeds Castle in Kent.

In early 2021 I decided to re-train and completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy followed by a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory.

Learning hypnotherapy has been life changing. It has opened my eyes to how amazing this complementary therapy can be. Through my training I had the privilege of seeing just how much can be achieved through hypnotherapy, its potential to help people, and how it can truly change people’s lives for the better. That is why I am proud to have been a member of this profession since 2023.

I have always been part of professions that help and support others, both in health services and education, firstly as a nurse and then as a family liaison officer in a primary school. I then had a career break to focus on my role as a carer for my children who have a range of additional needs, such as autism, anxiety and learning difficulties to name but a few. I then returned to work in 2023, spending two years as a Therapeutically Informed Practitioner supporting children and young people who have experienced and survived domestic abuse.

To enhance my skills further, I completed a Certificate in Child Adolescent Mental Health through the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in 2026.

Now as a qualified hypnotherapist and experienced practitioner within child wellbeing, I am excited to combine hypnotherapy with a wellbeing support service for children, alongside my hypnotherapy for adults.

My ethos is that support and help should be accessible to all and so my focus is not about making money but ensuring it is affordable to everyone. Therefore, I will be doing my best to make as many fee reductions as possible.

For your peace of mind, I am a registered member of the National Hypnotherapy Society, have regular clinical supervision, am fully insured, and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. I also have a valid DBS and complete yearly children’s and adults safeguarding training.

My aim is to help support you in changing whatever it is in your life that you are no longer happy with.

I will always be honest. I will work to the best of my ability. And I will dedicate time and energy to offering you or your child the very best support possible.

I’m excited to support you using my knowledge and skills and I hope you are looking forward to starting your journey with me.
